What is UWIN card and how to download it?

The Unorganised Workers Index Number card or UWIN Card was developed by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in 2014. The Gujarat government introduced the UWIN card for workers in the informal sector.

UWIN card: Goal

The U WIN Card’s main goal is to develop a single database of informal workers so that they can be identified and receive social security benefits. This card will also incorporate family information based on nuclear and linked family concepts, assisting the government in launching various family-based schemes. This system will also help recognise and support skills, areas for development, business and worker mapping, policy formation, and data-driven decision-making.

UWIN Card: Eligibility criteria

• The applicant must be a permanent Gujarat resident.

• The applicant’s age should be between 18 and 60 years old.

• Anyone interested in applying for this programme must be a disorganised sector worker and must have worked in the construction industry for at least 90 days in the previous 12 months.

• Click on Please register here. The Register Now option must be clicked on the homepage.

• You must input your full name, Aadhaar number, gender, birth date, mobile number, email address, password, user type, and captcha code on this page.

• You must now click on “register.”

• You must now log in using your user ID, password, and captcha code.

• After that, you must click on the UWIN card application.

Individual and family information is preserved in the SECC 2011 database, which includes demographics, income, employment, property files, and family ties. The UWIN database will combine information from the SECC database with information provided by unregulated agents during the registration and validation process.
